Fitness Regime: As a young actor, O’Connell’s family helped him stay out of the kinds of trouble in which many young stars typically get caught up. Instead of the party scene, O’Connell stepped onto the fitness scene when his mother hired him a personal trainer. He got into it and not only toned up his body, but also took up and become nationally ranked at fencing. After a stint of poor nutrition, wild living, and weight gain, O’Connell got back in tip top shape for “Kangaroo Jack” with a weight training and cardio workout 5 days per week.

Diet Regime: When working on shaping up for “Kangaroo Jack” O’Connell adopted a better nutritional plan by avoiding harmful food additives and by cutting back on alcohol, salt, and fatty dressings.
