Fitness Regime: In order to put on 30 pounds of muscle for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” Lautner worked out five days a week at the gym. His routine involved “tasting” weights 40% heavier than he could actually lift by having a spotter help him perform the lowering part of the lift. This helped him become accustomed to heavy weights quickly. For weights he was able to lift he varied weight and number of repetitions in order to keep his muscles guessing and tone them thoroughly. His trainer Jordan Yuam also emphasized the importance of days off from the gym in building muscle particularly for the abs.

Diet Regime: In order to bulk up quickly, Taylor had to eat every two hours for a daily goal of 3,200 calories. He focused on high protein foods like beef patties, raw almonds, and sweet potatoes.
