Fitness Regime: When cast for “300″ Gerard Butler wasn’t in ideal shape, but before filming he spent 4 months training his body and mind. With trainer Mark Twight he took on a 300-rep Spartan workout. It went something like this: without stopping between exercises, Butler would do 25 pullups, 50 deadlifts with 135 pounds, 50 pushups, 50 jumps on a 24-inch box, 50 floor wipers, 50 single-arm clean-and-presses using a 36-pound kettle bell, and 25 more pullups. His unconventional training also included gymnastics-style ring training and tire flipping.

Diet Regime: In preparing for “300″ Butler’s diet was probably something like this: high protein (30g per meal) from lean meats, eggs, fish, protein bars, etc; complex carbs, tapering off in the evenings; fruits and veggies, and a lot of water. Butler consumed 5-8 such meals daily.
Goals: Lead 300 Spartans to victory
